From A Radio Engine To A Photon Wing

The phone don't ring
And the sun refused to shine
Never thought I'd have to pay so dearly
For what was already mine
For such a long, long time

We made mad love
Shadow love
Random love
And abandoned love
Accidentally like a martyr
The hurt gets worse and the heart gets harder

The days slide by
Should have done, should have done, we all sigh
Never thought I'd ever be so lonely
After such a long, long time
Time out of mind

We made mad love
Shadow love
Random love
And abandoned love
Accidentally like a martyr
The hurt gets worse and the heart gets harder

Ok you have me stumped on this song. The lyrics are familiar though in the deep recesses of my brain.....mid or late 70's?

Ruby,

Yep....."ouch" is correct. I'll tell you the story one day.

Steamy,

I've deliberately misled you by mixing the wrong song title with the wrong words.

Ha ! About 1978 I think.

Not too much. I knew the lyrics didn't match the title because the title is the title of Nesmith's album from 1976. I just couldn't place the lyrics of the song but knew it was from the same era (bk - before kids when I listened to that music). It came to me in the middle of the night...but couldn't get up to come downstairs to the computer until now....way too much work to just post the title to the song...and tada......the name of the song is 'Accidently Like a Martyr' by Warren Zevon. But I wouldn't have pegged you to have liked him.

Steamy,

I rate Warren Zevon as one of the greatest songwriters ever (and also a man of my own heart in many ways).

I'll miss him.
