Hey - you're good at this. Yes ..it's Roger McGuinn ; I found myself singing it the other day while I was watching the never-ending rain.
The "Mr D" is Bob Dylan , the "Mr L" is Jaques Levy , I never found out who the "Mr J" is though I can guess.
The photo is Saint Marks in Venice :or Pizza Smarcko as Zara calls it.
I had a sudden urge to be there.

Now see I always thought McGuinn and Levy sang about Mr D (Dylan), Mr L (Lennon) and Mr J (Jagger).

I guess the question is "Who did McGuinn travel to India with ?" - it should be possible to find out.
I agree that Jagger's a candidate for the J although I always wondered if he was referring to Jimi Hendrix or Jim Morrison but couldn't use Mr H or Mr M because nothing would rhymne !
